1. Steel pipes include seamed pipes and seamless pipes, and the expression method is Φ outer diameter × δ wall thickness.

2. There are many kinds of seamed pipes. But there is a very commonly used pipe, namely the national standard pipe, also called water-gas pipe, which is usually expressed by engineering diameter, and the expression method is DN nominal diameter. For example, DN20, the outer diameter is 26.8 mm, the wall thickness is 2.75 mm, and the inch is expressed as 3/4in, which we usually call 6-point pipe. This kind of pipe is usually called national standard pipe and water-gas pipe. They are divided into black pipe and hot-dip galvanized pipe. What we usually say is that galvanized water and gas pipes refer to hot-dip galvanized national standard pipes, and some people directly call them "hot-dip galvanized steel pipes". They are all one-time operations.

3. Seamless pipes are usually not galvanized.

4. Galvanizing is divided into hot-dip and cold-dip. The hot-dip galvanized layer is thick and the color is snow-white and shiny. The national standard hot-dip galvanized pipe (i.e. galvanized water and gas pipe) is usually 6 meters long, with blue circles on both ends. No matter how long it is placed in the wind and rain, the galvanized layer will not fall off and the color will not change. The cold-dip galvanized layer is thin and grayish white. It will rust after being placed for a long time. It is usually used for electrical concealed lighting pipes in engineering. The wall thickness is also thinner than the national standard pipe. It is used in concrete and can be used immediately after purchase without rust removal. (If it is used in concrete, non-galvanized black pipes can also be used, but the inside of the black pipe needs to be rust-free, which is more troublesome, and the outside does not need it. It is a waste to use hot-dip galvanized pipes for concealed installation).
