Cold galvanizing is also called electro-galvanizing. It uses electrolytic equipment to remove oil and pickle the pipe fittings, and then put them into a solution composed of zinc salts, and connect them to the negative pole of the electrolytic equipment. A zinc plate is placed opposite the pipe fittings, connected to the positive pole of the electrolytic equipment and connected to the power supply. The directional movement of the current from the positive pole to the negative pole will deposit a layer of zinc on the pipe fittings. Cold-galvanized pipe fittings are processed first and then galvanized. Cold galvanizing (electro-galvanizing): zinc is gradually plated on the metal surface through the unidirectional current in the electroplating tank. The production speed is slow, the coating is uniform, the thickness is thin, usually only 3-15 microns, the appearance is bright, smooth, and beautiful, but the corrosion resistance is poor, and it will rust in a few months.

Hot-dip galvanizing is developed from the older hot-dip method. Since France applied hot-dip galvanizing to industry in 1836, it has a history of 170 years. However, the hot-dip galvanizing industry has been developed on a large scale in the past three decades with the rapid development of cold-rolled strip steel.

The production process of hot-dip galvanized sheet mainly includes: original sheet preparation → pre-galvanizing treatment → hot-dip galvanizing → post-galvanizing treatment → finished product inspection, etc. According to custom, it is often based on the pre-galvanizing treatment method.
