The flange of I-beam is a variable section, thick near the web and thin outside; the flange of H-beam is a constant section, and H-beam is divided into three categories: narrow flange, wide flange and steel pile, with the codes hz, hk and hu respectively. Narrow flange H-beam is suitable for beams or compression-bending members, while wide flange H-beam and H-beam pile are suitable for axial compression members or compression-bending members. Compared with H-beam, under the premise of equal weight, w, x and i of I-beam are not as good as B-beam. So what are the differences between H-beam and I-beam? 1. Whether it is ordinary or light, the cross-sectional dimensions of H-beam are relatively high and narrow, so the moments of inertia of the two main sleeves are very different. Therefore, it can only be used directly for components in the bending web or to form lattice-type stress members. It is not suitable for axial compression members or perpendicular to the web and curved members, so it has great limitations in application;

2. H-shaped steel is an efficient and economical steel (other types include cold-bent thin-walled steel, pressed steel plate, etc.). Due to the reasonable cross-sectional shape, the steel can be made more effective and its bearing capacity can be improved. Unlike ordinary steel, the flange of H-shaped steel is widened, and the inner and outer surfaces are parallel, which is easy to connect with other high-strength laurels. Its size is reasonable and the models are complete, which is convenient for design and selection;

3. The flange thickness of H-shaped steel is equal, and the rolling load surface and the three steel plates in the combined section are welded. Due to the poor production process, the inner edge of the flange has a slope of 1:10. The rolling process of H-shaped steel is different from that of ordinary I-beams, and only one set of horizontal rollers is used. Because its flange is wide and not tilted (or tilted slightly), a set of vertical rollers must be set at the same time to roll simultaneously. The height of H-shaped steel produced in China is 800mm, which is higher than the welded combination.
