In March 2025, crude steel production for the 69 countries/regions included in worldsteel statistics was 166.1 million tonnes, up 2.9% year-on-year.
Crude steel production in various regions
In March 2025, Africa produced 1.9 million tons of crude steel, up 0.6% year-on-year; Asia and Oceania produced 123.6 million tons of crude steel, up 3.9% year-on-year;
the EU (27 countries) produced 11.7 million tons of crude steel, up 0.2% year-on-year; other European countries produced 3.6 million tons of crude steel, down 7.2% year-on-year;
the Middle East produced 5.3 million tons of crude steel, up 1.9% year-on-year; North America produced 9.2 million tons of crude steel, up 1.4% year-on-year;
Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine produced 7.1 million tons of crude steel, down 3.5% year-on-year; South America produced 3.7 million tons of crude steel, up 6.5% year-on-year.
