Uses of galvanized sheet

Galvanized sheetrefers to a Steel Sheet with a layer of zinc on the surface. Galvanizing is a commonly used economical and effective rust prevention method. About half of the world's zinc production is used for this process.

Galvanized steel sheet is to protect the steel sheet surface from corrosion and extend its service life. A layer of metallic zinc is coated on the steel sheet surface. This zinc-coated steel sheet is called galvanized sheet.

According to the production and processing methods, it can be divided into the following categories:
① Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. The thin steel sheet is immersed in a molten zinc tank to make a thin layer of zinc adhere to its surface. It is mainly produced by continuous galvanizing process, that is, the rolled steel sheet is continuously immersed in a molten zinc plating tank to make a galvanized steel sheet;
② Alloyed galvanized steel sheet. This steel sheet is also made by hot dipping, but after leaving the tank, it is immediately heated to about 500℃ to form an alloy film of zinc and iron. This galvanized sheet has good adhesion and weldability of the paint;
③ Electrogalvanized steel sheet. This galvanized steel sheet manufactured by electroplating has good processability. However, the coating is thinner and the corrosion resistance is not as good as that of hot-dip galvanized sheet;
④ Single-sided and double-sided differential galvanized steel sheets. Single-sided galvanized steel sheet is a product that is galvanized on only one side. In terms of welding, painting, anti-rust treatment, processing, etc., it has better adaptability than double-sided galvanized sheet. In order to overcome the disadvantage of not coating one side with zinc, there is another type of galvanized sheet coated with a thin layer of zinc on the other side, namely double-sided differential galvanized sheet;
⑤ Alloy and composite galvanized steel sheet. It is a steel sheet made of zinc and other metals such as aluminum, lead, zinc, etc. to form an alloy or even composite plate. This type of steel sheet has both excellent anti-rust performance and good coating performance;

Appearance
(1) Surface state: Due to different treatment methods in the coating and plating process, the surface state of Galvanized Sheets is also different, such as ordinary zinc spangles, fine zinc spangles, flat zinc spangles, no zinc spangles, and phosphating surfaces. German standards also stipulate surface levels.
(2) Galvanized sheets should have good appearance and should not have defects that are harmful to the use of the product, such as no plating, holes, cracks, scum, excessive plating thickness, scratches, chromic acid dirt, white rust, etc. Foreign standards are not very clear about specific appearance defects. When ordering, some specific defects should be listed in the contract.

Galvanized steel sheet is a welded steel sheet with a hot-dip or electroplated zinc layer on the surface. It is generally widely used in construction, home appliances, vehicles and ships, container manufacturing, electromechanical industry, etc.
